It has been 3 years since The Juans had a cover version of Rivermaya’s “Balisong” for the movie entitled, “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” produced by Viva Records. Maybe for most of us, that was the first time we’ve encountered the band and true enough, this has been one of their biggest breakthroughs in the Philippines’ music industry.

As time passed by, they were able to produce famous OPM songs like Hindi Tayo Pwede, Istorya, Binibini Sa MRT, etc. and more than 5 worship-inspired Filipino songs that have truly helped many people especially during this time of pandemic. They don’t just give emotional songs to the Juanistas but they’re also bold enough to share their walk with the Lord.

Here are 6 of their worship-inspired songs that we can find comforting and encouraging:

1. Manalangin

Prayer is a powerful tool to communicate and connect with the Lord. In this time of pandemic, people are struggling physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually but with this song, it leads us that our hope is in the One who hears our prayers.

2. Yakap

The song reminds us of Exodus 14:14 GNT, it says, “The Lord will fight for you, and all you have to do is keep still.” When troubles, anxiety, fear and devastation come, all we need to do is to trust Jesus. The Bible says that He has already overcome all these and we believe that in Him, we are healed in all our iniquities.

3. Pag-ibig Lang

Sometimes, we tend to question God for what is happening and why we face life’s uncertainties, but as we put our trust in God’s love and comfort, we can find victory and joy above all. Even when we face different challenges, we hold unto His love for us, His faithfulness and His strength.

4. Ikaw ang May Sabi

We feel thankful and blessed to God’s promises that inspire and help us when we are in life’s storms and drought. We are grateful to Him for we know that when he gives promises, it’s true, faithful and eternal.

5. Trust and Obey

Trusting and obedience to God are what we need to face life’s situation. We should always worship, declare His goodness and obey the Lord without fear.

6. Drop Everything

When we feel bombarded and anxious with all our commitments, we tend to forget to just ‘drop everything’ to God and to connect with Him again. We’re thankful for our Father who truly listens and gives strength to his people.

It’s really a joy to see Filipino music bands who produce songs not just offered to people but also inspired with the Lord’s faithfulness. They are truly also proud of their faith in God (as seen in their vlogs) and that’s one of the reasons why people are blessed with their music. I couldn’t say that I’m a certified Juanista now but I’m amazed for their love for people and love for God.
