Worship leader and Christian music songwriter Kari Jobe has led us again to God’s amazing presence with her new song entitled, ‘First Love’. The song has touched, connected, ignited, and inspired us to faithfully reunite with the One true author of love.
First Love has reminded and delighted us on how we started to fully trust our lives to our Savior and King Jesus Christ. It feels like reminiscing again how He has found us and how we trusted Him by his unending grace. The song also reminds us of the intimate relationship and union with Him while remembering what He has done on the Cross.

The chorus speaks of remembering Him and going back to Him again and again. It says,
“You’re still my first love
You’re still my only one
You’re still my first love
You’re still my only one”
In the latter part of the song, it gives joy and fulfillment by being filled again with the flame that is burning which seems like the first time of our encounter with Jesus. Truly, it will reignite the fire in us being His bride, the Church.
Moreover, the song figuratively declares of our hearts burning to God, not letting it to become embers and fanning it to ablaze more. It says,
“Let it burn for You
Breathe on the embers of my heart
Fan it to flame
Let it burn
Let it burn”
No matter what our situation right now, our hearts and our faith are made to continuously ignite and commune with God and remembering that He is definitely our First Love.
Garnering almost 1.8M views on YouTube as of writing, First Love by Kari Jobe was released last month, September 2020, with its 22-minute live music along with Embers (spontaneous) and Obsession featuring Cody Carnes in Nashville, TN at The Belonging Co.
